I don't know about an e-gold account, but the paypal account is joined to your checking account.T activate it, you must give them your bank info and they will deposit like 5 cents to confirm your account. You keep the 5 cents. And everytime you use the paypal accoult it goes straight to your checking account.I just use my credit card to purchase things with pay pal.but to become confirmed, they need your bank account number.I don't really know what you mean by transering your account, but this is what I use pay pal for.I keep my bank account with my bank.Fill out the pay pal verification option on pay pal.(And I use the credit card option, so they never touch my bank account.)This just gets you verified so you will be trusted to buy and sell from on the internet. You then have the option to pay by credit card or to have them take it directly from your checking account.I don't know what you mean by transfer. But this is the only reason I use pay pal.Hope I helped in any way.If not, sorry.
