Certainly you can open an account. Whether or not you get the same account number is a matter to take up with the bank. I see no advantage to having the same account number. Creditors look at the amount of money you may have in savings and not so much at how long you have had the account.

You should be able to re-open your account with no problem. You can re-open as soon as you want. If you want the same account # tell them you would like to make a depo in the account you jusy closed....they should be able to force open the old account with no problem.

As long as the account was closed in good standing you can reopen it immediately
