It is from the bible, proverbs 23:7.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

In James Allen's book he uses the line "As a Man Thinketh in His Heart so He be", but I believe the saying is from the bible. His(Allen) book was called "As a man thinketh", A mind, life changing book and I highly recommend it. It is available on the net. It is also included in his collection of 5 books "The Wisdom Of James Allen"
