Sit down with your coach and discuss your feelings with him/her. Let him/her know that you want to at least be given the chance to fly and show your skills. He/She will probably say ok, but if they still say no then just suck it up and deal with it. I know that's kind of harsh but it's the truth. There is a reason these other girls are in the air instead of you. Being a flyer isn't always about being the tiniest. You can be a pretty heavy girl and still fly, it all depends on how you hold yourself in the air, and how much flexability you have so that you are able to do elite level stunts.

I based and backspotted for 6 years and i can tell you that my favorite person to base was a girl who weighed almost as much as me but she was tight in the air, hit her stunts, and didnt flail when she was coming down. So consider, and this might be hard to take, that although you have flown before, you're not the best flyer. Yes that is always hard to swallow, but don't let it get you down because that is not the end, you don't have to completely give up just yet.

First just take a step back and remember what this sport is truly about. TEAMWORK! Sometimes you can't always be the star and bases and spots, even though they may not be front and center, are equally as important positions, and the team could not function without them. Work hard and try to become the BEST at the position you are given. But, if you are still determined to become a flyer. Then work on those things i told you earlier in this: flexability, stability, tightness in the air, etc. If your coach won't let you practice getting better with your own teammates, take privates at an all star gym, and then once you're ready show him/her your new skills.

Just remember, your coach is the COACH, and as much as you don't want to hear it he/she probably knows way more about cheerleading than you, and they know what positions are best for which people, so try to respect their judgement, but if you are still determined to be in the air, and your gonna work hard to get up there then go for it!

Hate to say yet when your dad received't assist you, i desire that your mom will. i'm a center college cheerleading coach and cheerleading isn't affordable. of route middle schoolers don't have jobs to pay for camp, uniforms, etc. or perhaps if you ought to get a pastime, you received't have time to artwork and visit after college practices, conferences, and video games.... and do not ignore assignments. you'll favor someone that can help you pay the prices. Is your cheerleading squad classic or recreation? a generic squad is the squad that does the pep rally, cheers at video games from the sidelines, and ought to do a 1/2 time performance. A recreation squad is a squad that travels around the country competing. a tremendous variety of the game squads are co-ed, rather experienced, extremely difficult stunts, killer flips, you get the point. Its like the convey it On Squads. if your college has a generic squad, all you would possibly want to do is have some variety of rhythm and get a former cheerleader or one which has already made the squad to coach you. you ought to visit a UCA camp. they'll practice you the fundamentals of cheerleading. i imagine this may be impressive. if your squad is a recreation squad, your possibilities of creating the squad are very slender till you've had years of gymnastics. inspite of occurs, I favor you the finest of success. shop attempting and artwork flat out. shop in ideas Cheerleading is exertions, if it become any easier, it must be called football!

It could be that your coach feel that you are stronger being a base or a spot. Consider how you flying vs. you not flying will affect your team. Are you a better fit being on the ground? If you still want to fly, talk it over with your coach and be prepared to work you butt off to earn and keep the position.

Just hold a little practice by yourself and "fly" when your coach is nearby and let him/her see it in person. Or if that's too hard to "set up" then just straight up ask your coach for just 2 minutes for you to prove yourself and show how serious you are. It shows you're confident, aren't afraid to step up for yourself, and you just simply got balls. Hehehe.

Seeing is believing - more powerful than convincing words alone.

Good luck.

girl I'm in cheer leading too but we arnt doing flying stuff and this is what you can do show your self that you can do it and tell them that you know how to do it and just let them know that you arnt going to hurt yourself or anything just because you are smaller than the others. I hope that it will work just let them know that you can do it it is no problem about it.

HONEY, IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CHEERLEADING, YOU KNOW THAT THE SMALLEST FLYER ISN'T NECESSARILY THE BEST...I USED TO FLY...NOT BECAUSE I WAS THE SMALLEST, BUT BECAUSE I COULD HOLD IT LONGER THAN THE OTHERS!
