The song you mean is 'Golden Slumbers' by The Beatles from the Abbey Road LP. Written by Paul McCartney the lyrics are

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And i will sing a lullaby
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And i will sing a lullaby

The song is part of a medley and then goes into 'Carry That Weight. The chord progressions for each song are similar so the medley works well.

The story goes that Paul was at his father's house in Cheshire tinkering around on the piano. He flicked through a songbook belonging to his stepsister Ruth coming across the traditional melody 'Golden Slumbers'. Unable to read music he made up his own melody adding new words as he went along.

Golden Slumbers (the original) was written by the English writer and dramatist Thomas Dekker who was a contemporary of Shakespear. The song was first published in The Pleasant Comedy of Old Fortunatus (1600).

I remember playing the song on my guitar back in the 60's and my dear mother was quite indignant when she heard it saying 'That's not how it went when I was a girl.'

The whole medley includes 'You never Give Me Your Money', 'Sun King', 'Mean Mr Mustard', 'Polythene Pam', 'She Came In Through The Bathroom Window',Golden Slumbers' and 'Carry That Weight'

One sweet dream is part of 'You never Give Me Your Money' said to be writtem by Paul when The Beatles were argueing about who should represent them financially. The lyricas are lengthy but end

One sweet dream, pick up the bags and get in the limousine
Soon we'll be away from here, step on the gas and wipe that tear away
One sweet dream came true today
