A wife is three things. She is human, female and feminine.
As a human being, a wife is a creation of God with a four-fold makeup of heart, soul, mind and body. (Mark 12:30) In other words she is a complex creation of social, spiritual, mental and physical characteristics. And each one of these four areas of her life is crying out to be fulfilled...just like the male species. There are specific human needs that must be met in order to be happy and successful. A wife (as well as a husband) is on a life long journey to satisfy those needs...even when they don't fully understand them. More on this in another lesson.
The second part of a wife is that she was born a female. That means she has certain needs and she experiences certain fears that males do not experience. Society has imposed responsibilities and female images that are sometimes overwhelming and frightening.
The third part of a wife is that she is "feminine". She is a female by birth and a woman by age...but she can only become feminine by maturity ..

I once heard that a wife is someone who gets you out of all of the troubles you wouldn't have had if you hadn't married her!

Only you can define the meaning of wife. There's no absolute definition of wife or husband. Remember, we're human and we do make mistake...so leave room for mistake. Take care.
