Does that make you an "oaf" too?! Yes I agree there must be many oafs who are on the dole because this nation have become a bunch of lazy money grabbers who faint at the thought of paying their way (but have all the mod cons because they are working on the sly - you know who you are you cheating wasters!). I fall into the category of working mother of two, streetwise and intelligent but likes to spend the odd half an hour on here because TV is crap! After a hard day at work it's nice to let off steam and help others or just have a good old moan! P.S. I'm not taking sides as I'm half scottish/half english! And while I'm at it why does everyone slag each other off depending on which country they live in? It's pathetic. Grow up guys!

Steady on old chap, It does work both ways, I've left the bait out for the Jocks a few times and they bite just as quick as the English.
But keep up the good work north of the border. We all need to be brought down a peg or two every now and again and beside it can be bloody funny sometimes.

I wouldn't judge the whole of England by the people who post here. Okay, so a lot of them can't spell, but at least they're willing to express an opinion - something that I gather is discouraged in schools and workplaces generally, for fear of offending a minority that one was previously unaware existed.
To address your question more seriously, we are lead to believe that the population is becoming less oafish due to the explosion of University educated citizens currently on our streets (even if it is BA Media Studies).
Unfortunately, this effect is inversely proportional to the number of citizens educated by watching football (providing invaluable tips on to how to spit without dirtying ones shirt) and those whose vocabulary mostly consists of 'Yeah man', 'No man', 'Inni'' (note the clever perversion of 'isn't it') and - God forbid, (even the formerly monickered 'middle classes' have become addicted to this one) - 'Cool'.
So yes, this country is falling down the bottomless pit of oafdom. If you fall into the oaf category, be sure to thank Tony Blair by voting for him in the next election (assuming he and Cheri aren't on their book-selling tour by then) - he put you where you are and the Government are happy to see you swirling around in the oafpool (they'll even provide 'benefits' to ensure you stay there).
If you don't want to be an oaf any longer, here are some tips to help you:-
- spitting in public is not socially acceptable - if you see someone doing it, jeer loudly at them, or if you live in Scotland, stab them
- learn to read and write and do sums (go to an evening class) - it's the simplest (legal) way of empowering yourself
- don't have kids until you're a responsible adult (this isn't automatically attained when a girl has her first period or a boy his first acne outbreak)
I give up actually. This country has passed the point of no return. There're too many people leeching the country of its life blood, only to infuse it into other countries who apparently need it more (hey Sir Bob (or the whingey Coldplay bloke or ***** from U2) - how about a benefit for people in the UK who haven't got a pot to p**s in)?
I hear that Australia is quite a popular place to emigrate to.

Don't care to comment on your crass question. However, I notice that this is the second time you have asked this question, sad little person. scottish by any chance? They all seem fixated on trying to belittle their Big Neighbour (little country/big country syndrome)
