I could understand a brief response just for the two points. However, it really pushes my buttons when someone types two paragraphs of misinformation... especially under one of the health categories. I hope everyone asking questions considers the source and double checks all advice given.

As some people have said, for the 2 points.
Another reason could be because they think they know what they are talking about, but they really don't.
And a third reason, they just want to rant and rave about the question or the answers, and not really answer it.

lots of reasons, i suppose. sometimes you only need an opinion. the questions are not all textbook or serious. sometimes it's just a matter of putting in your 2 cents. and some people have a lot of loose change....ha!

I only answer that Q's I have knowledge about, it is obvious, when someone doesn't by the A's they give, but at least you can have a good laugh at the crap that gets written.
