In their minds only. I did when I was a kid...and my kids think they do right now. It all gets sorted out with maturity, so don't worry about it (even as the parents snicker behind your back...as mine did!)

Your question is a bit broad. All parents are not ruled by their kids. Some parents are and some are not.

Some kids now do, because there parents don't discipline them right. I see some kids in the store that need to get the butts whooped

life is an evolution process, the parents have to prepare to live the new age with their children. Advance with the time so they understand the new era with the children.
That way no one rules no one but live in harmony.

I know for a fact some kids do, because their parents give them what they want, and if they don't they kids get verbally abusive.

only if they have bad parents. So yes in a lot of home in the US that is the case because they have bad parents.

Not all of them. I've seen pathetic situations...some parents do whaterever their kids ask them to do. They are like their kids slaves! Fortunately other parents know how to put limits to their kids and know how to say NO to them.

sure. in some families they definitely do. i don't let my kids run my life. i do give in sometimes, but i am the parent, and i always have the last say.
