So.. I'll give the story as simple as I can. Ive been on birth control for just about a year now, ortho tri-cyclen low. I have never skipped any pills before until this last month. I skipped two in a row and had un-protected sex the rest of the month (please dont scold me I know it was dumb of me and I feel stupid enough as it is already). Anyways.... I felt a little funny before my period, my breats hurt a bit but I cant figure out if I was just making that up in my head because I was worrying so much that I was pregnant. I got my period the day it was supposed to start, however it only lasted a day and stopped completley and I havent got it since. I took a pregnancy test, 3 days after my period stopped and it was negative. Can anyone shed some light on what could be happening??!!! Please.

It is possible to have a short period when pregnant, especially the first couple of months. It is also possible you threw your hormones out of whack when you skipped 2 days of pills. Wait a few more days and take another pregnancy test. I would suggest that you see a doctor if you think there is a possibility of pregnancy because if you keep taking the pill you could be doing some kind of harm to the baby.

Missing a pill (or two) can cause your body to think it is time to start, then when you started them again your period was confused. The kicker is that you could have caused yourself to ovulate and if you had sex the rest of the month you could have set your self to get pregnant and not even known it. Implantation bleeding usually last about 1 - 2 days and is very light then goes away. There is a good chance the you are pregnant and the sad thing is if there is a possibility that you are you need to get off the immediately as it could cause birthdefects and even miscarriage to a fetus. But agian it is a no win situation cause if you arent and you stop it will take take the pills a while to get back into your system and reduce the risk of pregnancy.

It is possible that you can be pregnant. But it is more likely that your breasts are sore because of your oncoming period. It is also highly likely that the pill has messed up your period. I took Ortho-Low and my period was twice a month and only lasted two days. Try taking another test in about a week but I'm pretty sure it was the pills.

If you miss pills and then come on, your period will be different to normal - it happens to me! However, sore breasts are good indicator of pregnancy so if you do still have sore boobs then I'd take another test. If you missed your pills and then took two or three together, then that can make breasts sore and alter normal period, but don't forget, when you are taking the pill the period you get is an artificial bleed and not a true period anyway.

I would say that you are not pregnant. Here's why -

1) You did get a period.. sometimes periods can be really short.. maybe it's a result of you skipping two pills and that threw your natural body chemisty off..
2) Pregnancy tests are pretty accurate.
3) Your breasts can get tender around your menstrual cycle.

Basically - a lot of pregancy symptoms are also symptoms that tell you when you are starting your cycle. Although you should never ignore them, missing two pills out of a month is unlikely to get you pregnant.

If you are still nervous, I urge you to see your doctor and discuss it with him/her. They can do a blood test which is more accurate than a hpt.

my friend had this same problem, well similiar. She was on birth control for 2 yrs and then hopped off since her and her bf broke up.. but then they got back together about2-3 months later and had sex. she had the same symptoms as you. the doctor told her that it was ok. if she had spotting it was just because when u get off the pill, it takes awhile for your body to adjust to being without it, esp for as long as you were on it. the body is just adjusting. symptoms for tenderness are regular.. However, that is my friend and everyone is different. It also may be too early to tell if you are pregnant, wait another week or two and test again.. Spotting can also be a symptom of pregnancy as well :/

i guess all i can say is good luck!! im pregnant and happy due sept 13th!

Sore BBs are also an indicator of your period, at least it was before my DH and I got Preggers, Now they hurt all the time! your cycle is probably messed up because of the pills but the changes of your being pregnant are slim. I was on BCP for 8 years and missed a few in a row and never got Pregnant....maybe you should think about alternative method of BC like the patch, I was going to get it untill we decided we were ready for a family

your breasts hurtig is normal for that time of the month. normally, if you skip 2 pills on ortho-tricyclen, it'll make you start your period within a day or so, which is part of what helps to prevent you getting pregnant, so i wouldn't worry too much. if you are all that worried about it, go to your OBGYN or family doctor and they can do a blood test that monitors your HCG levels and that will tell if you are truely pregnant. i still would not worry too much about it, though. this is a normal thing sometimes.

Birth control plays tricks on your body. You didn't take it regularly for a while and now your body is extremely confused. You should go ahead and take another test to be certain. I would recommend a blood test, then there is no question. If you are not pregnant then I suggest you be alot more careful if you don't want to end up with a baby. If you do want a baby then God's blessings to you.

well, obviously you realize this calls for a doctor's appointment. your body might just be doing a hormonal adjustment, but it is possible to be pregnant and have a scant, light, or short period. you should take another pregnancy test (i suggest at a clinic, so that you can really know conclusively) in a week. my guess is that the stress and perhaps other changes in diet or sleep have just confused your horomonal timing.
