The Orioles for years were the best pitching team in the majors. Palmer, Flannigan, Scott McGregor, Tippy and Dennis Martinez, Tim Stoddard, Steve Stone etc... They had fantastic pitching and some home run hitters. They also had the best farm system along with the Dodgers. Now they dont' put out the pitchers much anymore.
The worst part for the Orioles now is that they have the Red Sox (the most arrogant fans in baseball) and the Yankees in their division and they have no spending limits. They'd spend $10 at a Walmart for a can of coke. They're loaded.
Now they don't have anything but Tejada. They need to retool their entire pitching staff and I dont' see that happening any time soon. Sorry you may have to wait a while.

This is really hard to answer!! Every year, especially this year, I thought they had improved themselves over the winter and would be a contender. At the start of the season, they were, but then they just fell apart. They certainly have the talent, but they are not producing. One or two first rate pitchers just might make all the difference, and then next year they will have a winning season. Look at what the Tigers are doing this year after being last in their division last year. Do not despair. The future may be bright!!
Chow!!

common; it rather is all approximately income MLB. the two golf equipment have some youthful expertise. The question is, which team will extra probable be able to handle to pay for to maintain their expertise as they mindset coming near cost organization? answer - the Orioles. final season, the Pirates ranked ineffective final in team payroll at a shade below 35 million. The O's have been nearer to the midsection of the %. at #17 with a payroll of eighty one.6 million. in spite of what you think of of Peter Angelos, i'm guessing that if he theory the Orioles have been very on the brink of having a actual contending team he could kick in some extra $$$ to be sure it with the aid of. not Yankee, crimson Sox or Phils funds possibly, yet sufficient. i don't think of that theres a snowballs hazard of a subject like that EVER occurring in Pittsburgh till they're offered and run with the aid of some very triggered & very deep wallet committed to bringing a winner to Pittsburgh.

It's looking like never when they're in the same division as New York and Boston and even Toronto is going to be better than the O's for years to come, the Orioles lineup and pitching rotation are putrid, all they have is Bedard and Benson is overrated.

Not any time soon. In 80 years we will call it the "The Albert (Joey) Belle Curse" since they paid him all the money to secure him as one of the worst, longterm, big money deals in the history of baseball.
