Hello, I'm 16 and a half and recently started having sex with my long term boyfriend, and we do use protection, we've never done anything stupid like not use proection, however a month ago, 12 hours before my period came we had sex and unfortunately a few had a few condoms split on us way way way before his climax and mine and we stopped immediately. I was worried because I know abuot the possiblities of pre-ejaculation and went to see someone at a family planning clinic 2 weeks after and the lady I spoke to said I wasn't pregnant, because she asked me about the period I had after sex and I said it was normal and she said that she was certain I wasn't pregnant because my period had been normal and I didnt have sex during the fertilisation days (12-16 or something) of my menstrual cycle. However today it's the 30th day and the period hasn't arrived yet, and my period isn't usually bang on time it's either a couple days early or late, but I cant help worrying and going out of mind that I still could be pregnant. I worry a lot, and I heard that worrying can delay your period? I also do have the PMT symptoms this week irritable, sore breasts, bloating, tiredness, and stuff, but I cant help worrying. Today I feel particularly depressed like I normally feel before a period. Please Help me with some facts.

Stressing about it can cause a delay in your period, if you are really worried go and get a test to take. If you are 3 days late now, 2 weeks ago you couldn't have been pregnant since that would have been when you were most fertile.

Take a test and abstain from sex so you don't even have to worry about if you are pregnant or not again, until you are older to be able to care for a baby.

good luck

Okay well you went to the specialist too early. Because you have now missed a period a home pregnancy will tell you. Although you use protection abstinence is the only true way of not becoming pregnant. I am not saying this to worry you but there is always a chance if you are having sex that you could become pregnant. Take a test and then if it is negative your best bet is you aren't. Try not to worry so much or your period may be delayed much much longer. Best of luck!

I think you've waited long enough now that you can take a home pregnancy test. According to the commercials, you can take the home tests nowadays just a day or two after a missed period.

You sound 50 times more literate than the average Yahoo Answers user asking this same question. Hopefully you will use these smarts to do the right thing from now on.

Good luck!

I have never heard of a condom breaking or spliting...never happened to me.

You are only 16 not a grown woman, you need to stop having sex till you become an adult. You have no idea what you are getting yourself into. If you are that worried about being pregnant then stop having sex and you won't have that worry.

The only thing you need to be concerned about is going to school and getting an education, not having sex before being an adult.

Stop trying to be grown.

I would go for a second test or go buy a home pregnancy test. But it is likely that it could be your nerves causing your period to be late.
