Definitly born, I know people who have parents who hate their children for being different and they are still gay. Nobody can effect or do anything. There is no such thing as Gay medical interventions to make them straght or vice versa for that matter.

There is still debate about the reason for orientation - it certainly must have a genetic component, but it may also have environmental aspects. Either way, researchers agree that by the time a child reaches puberty, their orientation is fixed, and it won't change even if they adopt the outward appearance of the opposite orientation. "Recovered" gays have modified their behaviors to conform with straight behaviors, but this will never change their basic instincts. For that reason, whether secretly or openly, these men slip back into their normal sexual patterns.

I think it is far more destructive to pretend to be straight, marry and have kids than it is to simply be yourself. In the end, these relationships, built on a fundamental lie, have to break down, and then so many people are hurt.

Most of the studies suggest that people are born gay or straight. Some gay people feel that sexual abuse by a same sex relative pushed them toward being gay, but who knows for sure.

it really depends on the individual. i will speak from personal experiences and knowing people, rather than b.s.'ing like some people...
some people are born gay/lesbian, due to what some would refer to as a "genetic flaw." it has been proven that there is a "gay" gene. people such as me and my partner have known from VERY young ages that we are homosexual.
other people may have had tramatic events in their lives leeding up to trust issues with people of the opposite sex.
that would pretty much sum it up on that note though.
it really just boils down to the individual in question.

We're born gay. But we are raised, usually, by heterosexual people, so we learn to act as a hetero for most of our formative years. Time brings us to our in-born nature.

Yes, extensive research has confirmed that homosexuals are born that way. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. Those that say that a person can change their sexual preference are ignorant and uneducated.
