the book was published by The Bobbs-Merrill Company, written by Baum and WW Denslow drew pictures. What would be value if book was in fair condition? Excellent condition? Would it be financially beneficial to sell the drawings individually? (please don't let me offend anyone, I am really green at book selling and researching)

hard back with jacket and first edition, take your time on selling it as it should be worth quite a lot, so don't jump at the first large offer you get, and something tells me you are going to get some good ones. Start at some rear book stores and if there aren't any in your area, then try on e-bay or other web resources. Good hunting, I feel you got a good one.

If you want to see what other are selling this books for, or how much it's been sold for, I would suggest going and looking at http://www.abebooks.com/ or http://www.bookfinder.com/

Both of those sites deal with antique books. The amount you're able to sell it for also depends on the condition of the books. For example: You might see two copies of the same book for sale. The difference between them could be anything from a different edition to the fact that one of hem has a torn cover, loose binding, missing pages, etc.

You can also take it to get appraised by an antique book dealer. I know thereare people out there who collect this type of book (Wizard of Oz books specifically), so if you look around you should find someone who'll appraise the value for you.

I hope this helps.

Um..wow. A lot! Sorry, but a real historic book...Sorry, but I have no idea. I know this isn't very helpful, but I'll try to do some research and get some more information on it.
