No, they're completely different. I think a fairer comparison might be between Dakota Fanning and Jodie Foster. Drew as a child actor was cast in roles that made much of her looks and not much subtlety. Jodie Foster--and Dakota Fanning-- are better able to handle roles that are a bit heftier and nuanced.
As someone said earlier Dakota Fanning is almost eerily precocious in her interviews. She's a thoughtful actor who makes choices and probably has a healthy support system around her. When Drew was that age she did not have a healthy support system and was basically allowed or even encouraged to self destruct. What Drew's accomplished since is a testament to the huge talent and drive that she has, but lets hope that Dakota does not have to prove herself the same way.

In my opinon, NO. Drew Barrymore became a bigger celebrity than Dakota Fanning at her age. however Dakota has starred in universal video clips, she maximum possibly won't accomplish the comparable acceptance than Drew. Drew declared superstardom with the MONSTAR HIT E.T. the extra Trestrial. Dakota has no longer reached that time of stardom yet, and maximum possibly won't. She in my opinon will visit celebrity in universal video clips yet as she grows older, she would be able to maximum possibly fade out like maximum newborn stars.

YES !!!! Absolutely !!! I love that little girl ! She shows nothing but sheer intelligence in interviews (if you have ever seen her on Letterman or Leno etc. you know what I'm talking about. ) And has already been in movies with some of the biggest stars! (More than Barrymore at her age.)
But, I think she may end up even MORE popular than Barrymore ! Even though I DO like her a lot too !

Gosh, I hope not. Drew got into a lot of trouble with drugs. Is is Dakota Fanning who will set the standard for young actresses in the future.

I think her talent already eclipses Drew Barrymore. She has the potential to be more successful and hopefully will play in more signficant movies then Barrymore, who I just can't take seriously.

probably,Drew made some mistakes in the past.but,I blame that all on her mom.Drew is a sweet person,and probably my favorite actress!!!
