Clinton was not impeached because the Impeachment vote was against Impeachment. How many of you cited the final outcome of the entire trial.

After more than three days of secret deliberations, the Senate rejected 55-45 the first article of impeachment charging Clinton lied under oath in his August 17 grand jury testimony. The second article, which alleged the president obstructed justice in his attempt to cover up his affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, failed on a 50-50 vote. (Roll call)

Articles of Impeachment were brought against President Clinton by the House of Representatives. All the articles are is like an indictment for you or me. It then went to trial in the Senate. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court proceeds over the trial. The Senate found that what Clinton did was not an impeachable offense and acquitted him. There fore he was not impeached!

Clinton was impeached. The confusion stems from the fact that, while the word "impeachment" is sometimes casually used to mean "getting rid of the president", it actually only refers to the Congressional hearings that determine whether or not the president will be removed. Clinton's impeachment obviously did not result in removal.

Clinton was brought up on articles of impeachment by the house of representitives then they were sent to the senate but never passed the senate.

He was impeached. He was not removed from office. Congress debated the issue. That is impeachment. They did not remove him from office.
It is a matter of historical record.

it's not a matter of belief... they impeached him, but he wasn't prosecuted or thrown out of office, maybe you're confused because impeachment means the senate officially put him on trial not that they kicked him out
