I USE TO GET BAD BOUTS OF CYSTITIS, until I looked at my diet cystitis is cause by to much acid in the body, bladder, also leads to kidney infection, if its an infection you will know by lower back pain and or blood in your water (go see a doctor) if its just the pain on peeing and never getting of the loo then cut down on anything with alot of acid in it wine, fruit etc try to find which ones start a bout off. You can easy the pain by drinking loads of hot water a glass ever half hour.It makes you pee more but flushes out your kidneys so the pain gets less. Also drink bicarb in hot water about a teaspoon to a glass (taste bad but does the trick) I don't get many attacks know and I know when ones coming on so that's what I do ,hope it works for you.
Its also caused by germs or bacteria passing from the front to the back (one hole to another) always wash your hands and pee right after you finish with what ever you are doing in that area to stop germs spreading it use to be called the honeymoon disease see as new brides would get it after there first night with there husbands it has nothing to do with hygiene really

I used to suffer a lot with cystitis and with kidney infections. I have recently discoverd that I have an irritable bladder (find i suddenly need to pee unexpectedly). Making sure I don't ignore this but cut into conversations or stop working or whatever and go pee has helped cut down my cystitis a lot.
Also I've noticed that after cutting dairy out of my diet for another meidcla problem my cystitis has almost completely gone. Had a small attack the other week when it was really hot but that was through not drinking wnough water at work.
Other than that the other advice given here about cranberry juice etc is good. Bergamot is supposed to help in a tepid bath and so are garlic capsules.
Also a nurse when I was hospitalised with a kidney infection suggested that I shave my labia (this was before brazillians etc were fashionable) to help keep the urethra opening cool - it worked a bit but the dairy and th not holding have been the big things!
Poor you, hope it gets better soon.

From what you have said, i would doubt it is cystitis. You would have crippling pain on urinating and possibly flu like symptoms. You say it only happens after you masturbate - if you are experiencing a burning, sharp pain on urinating after masturbating then it sounds as if your skin has been scratched or sore. I think you need to invest in a vibrator as it is will be gentler on you than your current method lol!
Stop masturbating for a couple of weeks, then see what happens when u start again. If you have no symptoms during that time, and it hurts a little bit once you start then you will know that you are hurting yourself. Otherwise go to the GP.

After I gave birth, I used to have repeated bouts of cystitis as well, which I thought were urinary tract infections. Eventually, I did go to a urologist, and it showed that I have scarring on the walls of the bladder (from the pregnancy). I was told not to eat acidic foods like tomatoes, citrus ( but I do), empty my bladder right after intercourse, and take a mild form of low dosage (100MG) antibiotics called 'Macrobid' -(the generic is 'Nitrofurantonin') . This antibiotic helps tremendously, and I urge you to go see a urologist as soon as you can so you can get the help you need. Good luck!

Cystitis is a renal infection which of course means the kidneys too.
Have you tried drinking cranberry juice on a daily basis? This helps alot.
Also lots of water too.
Don't use any bubble baths of any sort as this affects it too.
I know it's not sexy but loose cotton underwear helps too.
If after trying all these things you still get it back it might be worth while having some urine samples sent for analysis.
You say you only get this after masturbating? Are you using any lubricant? you may be alergic to that or condoms? lots of women are alergic to latex.
All possibilities i hope this helps.

Just a couple of suggestions that will help....
If youre using a toy, make sure its CLEAN, like squeaky squeaky clean (stops spread of nasty germs)
If youre using your hands alone, again, make sure theyre CLEAN
Always go for a wee after as it flushes out any bacteria that may have gotten into your system
Oh, and drink lots of water
Hope this helps! I used to suffer from cystitis a lot and found that since I started going for a wee after each time I have sex, Ive not had 1 attack (about 5 years now, touch wood!) Good luck

As others have said, drink cranberry juice. It kind of coats the ureter so that the bacteria can't stick to it. As well as the juice, drink water frequently to flush out any toxins. Never "hold" when you need the toilet, go straight away. Go to the toilet after sexual activity so that you flush out any bacterium that have entered the uretha. Keep any "toys" that come into contact with your genitals clean. If this doesn't work, go to a gp and ask to be refered to a urolagist.

Cranberry juice is supposed to be really good for it. Some people are just prone to getting cystitis. Remember to drink plenty of water.

Wash before you masturbate as well as after, both your hands and genitals.
I went through two years in my twenties of getting cystitis all of the time and eventually I grew out of it.
Drink lots of water and wear cotton panties and try to avoid tight fitting trousers.
I would not wish it on anyone other than my murderous ex husband.

there is nothing wrong with masturbation, its a a way of discovering what you like sexually.
Drink plenty of cranberry juice and flush out any infections by drinking plenty of water.
People tend to get it when they have alot of sex, dont worry yourself about just follow the above.
One girl at work tends to get it when she drinks too much alcohol or too many citrus fruits
Go to the doctor for more professional advice, I only know the basics LOL
