If you are serious, Pray.

Then, see what you can do to get in touch with different org. that have helped other schools in the past: Oprah's Angel Network, ABC, NBC,CBS, Regis & Kelly, community Church's, local news stations, local businesses, Alumni... If these orgs./people can't, (or won't) help, then ask them if they can offer any suggestions.

Also, you may want to think about having a carnival to raise money, or a concert, maybe come up with your own version of a play that explains your situation in a comedy format and have the play run for the next two weeks, (or until you can raise the money needed).

It sounds exciting, and, like a wonderful opportunity! I'll pray for you, and I really hope it works out well for you all! Please keep us informed. I for one would love to know how it turns out. God bless you all!

Depends on where you live. I live in Texas, and Texas Commission on the Arts offers mini grants for travel. Check w/ State and Local arts councils. You might also check with civic organizations such as Lions, Elks, and Rotary Club. You'll probably have an easier time asking ten people to raise 4.3K as opposed to one person trying to raise 43K on their own. Do you have a mailing list of season subscribers or patrons? Direct mail is labor intensive and it costs $$$, but it works. Write a good letter and send it to those that have supported you in the past. Congratulations and good luck!
