Since the area we now know as Israel and Palestine and Lebanon...?

was mainly Jewish and Christian before the murderous Muslims came in the 7th century, shouldn't all this land be under Jewish & Christian control and not the Muslim invaders? Isn't this the same logic most Islamists are using to say they want their land back in Palestine and Lebanon & yes Israel? At what point in time do you draw the line?

John J - you are proving my point! If the land previously belonged to Persia or Rome or Greece, should they be the rightful owners or did they illegally possess the land as many say Israel now does in their country. Just a question.

I believe that the land you speak of was inhabited by a cross between Neanderthal and Homo habilis at one time, but since they are no longer with us, we can't give it back.

I live on land once inhabited by First Nations people. They have been good enough to let my European brothers and sisters live here in peace, although I feel it is their goodness and generosity that allows me to stay unmolested.

for ur knowledge, the Roman empire expelled all the Jews from Jerusalem. After the Muslims conquered Jerusalem, they invited the Jews back to the city.

During the Islamic civilization, the Jews lived whereever they wanted under their own sovereignty (they even had their own courts and officers) in Muslim states, and the same applied to the Christians living in the middle east and africa. In fact, the persecuted Jews in Europe would flee to the Muslim states where they found safety. Just look into the Inquisition, where did the persecuted Jews flee to? To north africa, to live with the Muslims.

When the crusaders a thousand years ago invaded jerusalem, the Christian arabs (yes, there are christian and jewish arabs in case u didn't know) fought along the muslims because the crusaders killed all arabs, whether they were christians, jews, or muslims.

the problem we're having today is that it is jews from europe going to the middle east with zionism as their ideal, which was developed as a solution to the oppressive european regimes. The arab jews were living in peace back then. Again, have u actually ever opened up a book to read, or do u just turn the TV on and listen to some one claim to know all talk about the solution. I know one thing, God never intended u to be a sponge. Are u?

And yes, I'm a proud and thankful practicing Muslim, just like another 1 billion people. And before I finish off, just ask urself who has killed more people than any other in the world. It is not the muslims, but Europeans and Americans. The countries fighting in WWI and WWII have killed tens of millions of people. Add the Korean and the Vietnamese wars, the Latin American interferences, and u get the picture. So who are the murderer's now???

The Christian population of these areas has been decreasing for centuries due to harrassment & murders from the now Islamic majority.
I say if a people have been a nation for 50+ years the land is theirs. Israel for Israelis - Christian,Jewish & Muslim - but the same goes for Lebanon & Palestine. Why isn't the UN stepping in to protect the Jewish & Christian peoples in Palestine & Lebanon & other Muslim countries!

The Muslims didn't take the land from the Christians / Jews, they took the land from the Romans, who took the land from the Greeks, who took the land from the Persians, etc.... The creation of Israel in 1948 was more than a millenia after Muslim control was established. Historic presidence rightfully gives the land to the Arab nations in the area. However, the UN didn't recognize this and took the land from Palestine to create Israel. The fight over that land has been going ever since. Now, where do you want to draw the line?
