First you pull to start it, then you push to mow. Seriously, if you must pull the mower be careful and watch you feet.

Go forward, but don't push. Let the mower do the moving. You just guide it in the direction it should go.

Push then pull. Its faster than turning.(I do 3 acres once every week)
