Why do we put effort into identifying ourselves with a tiny logo (or avatar)? Are we, perhaps, trying to appear more interesting or attractive? What about the folks who have a real arty image in their little box, do they wish to be seen to be intense?
Serious or laughable (or both), I'm happy to hear any response...

I change what my avatar is wearing if I think I've offended someone because i think we remember faces better than names! How sad is that, making a fooking avatar wear a disguise?!!! I'm such a silly billy witch!

Avatars seem mostly to be cute but quite vapid. I don't see how they could be construed as making someone more interesting; I think the reverse is actually the case and they simply provide a bland facade covering an inner insecurity. Sorry for being such a grump but it's teeming down and miserable here and not conducive to frivolity.

Well yes I have to admit I try to look a little more interesting with the avatars I choose,a lot more interesting actually but never mind its good fun.

i made my avatar when i was bored. i didnt make it to look like me, just what i liked best out of the choices. im not trying to be more or less attractive or to come off as a certain type of person. i just made it liked it and put it up. :)

Maybe we introduce ourselves with our avatars...or maybe we create avatars that are our ''dream'' self. I just like to play with the backrounds and outfits...it's cool! Also I'd like one week to see my avatar to be the featured avatar of the week in yahoo! Well I like to dream ok? lol

I change mine quite freq depending on my mood. It's just a little way to express yourself and how you feel, or put on a brave face if it's not a great day!
