How to replace power antenna on 1987 Cadillac Sedan DeVille?

The antenna should extend and close when the radio is turned

On/Off, this does not happen!

well this isnt an easy job, what someone probably has done is disconnect the motor because the antenna mast cable has broken. unless you know how to do this or have seen it done then dont do it. usually you have to remove the motor, dissasemble it and remove the broken part then reinstall it and feed the new antenna mast back in. now if you were to replace the whole motor/mast assembly thats an easier job but you have to locate the motor, behind the panel in the trunk, remove the mounting nuts, this includes the one one the outside of the car and then reverse for installation
