The thing about anime - besides how it's drawn - is that is literally an anime for everyone out there. You like baseball? There's baseball anime. Driving/racing? There's anime. Spy films? Anime. Soap operas? Got them too. Even anime office dramas. It's so weird it's fun. And they range from dead serious to kooky to the extreme, so you can choose the level of seriousness you wish to watch.
Of course, there's the whole hentai thing but that's just one small part of a very big industry.

Some -- people like it,... some just love it,... others loathe it,...
can't please everyone I guess.
1) anime tends to be better drawn than typical american "toons".
2) the stories tend to be better written with more substance to the characters and what is going on in the story.
3) MOST of us (who like anime) are sick to death of the re-runs, we've been forced to watch when there is nothing else on to watch. Like watching Ed, Edd & Eddie,... you can only take so much about three morons. It may be amusing if you were tripping on acid.
4) some of us just think the charcters are cooler or cuter, depending on your point of view.

I dont think its strange. Well some anime is weird but the others all pretty cool. for instance try watching Naruto and Inuyasha.

Anime is a lot like comic books. Except anime is cute and comics usually aren't. However the action and plot lines etc are usually quite similar. If you like comics, you probably at leas think anime is ok.

Actually it's very artistic .... when you look at a whole series of events with audio and effects .. and you realize that it never happened and none of the characters does really exist .. and it's just a series of images that was drawn by artists taking time and effort ... beside, In amine you can see actions that can't be done in real life ... it's worth while

animation is more fun than actual movies sometime, loaded with actions that in real movies it's impossible to do...fact that most of it's acts made out of by computers it has more flavors and people enthusiastic about it because anything is possible in the animation world

They are like soap-operas for computer nerds and boys who like science fiction or action cartoons. A lot of guys even like watching porn in anime format.
