ONCE UPON A TIME, a long long time ago there was this ship. it was in this war. well the entire ship was not feeling very good one day and so it was decided that the entire ship be put on medical leave. so they went on medical leave and they all lived happily ever after, the end.
well that might not be the story your looking for but its a pretty good story non the less

During the influenza pandemic of 1916-1918 American troop ships were essentially death ships. These ships carried hundreds to thousands of troops, in close quarters. Just a few of these were initially infected, but before they reached Europe the troops were dying in droves from the flu. The stories told by the survivors are simply horrible.
