There is nothing worse than a crying baby you can't soothe......i would warm up a towel in the dryer and let her put her ear down against it and cover the over side........also setting upright is good....there are many different things just what the child prefers...there are meds for the pain...sometimes it just takes rocking and cuddling...............good luck and you should ck. into tubes if the infections reoccur very often....................enjoy your daughter.....

My daughter suffered terribly as an infant with ear infections. The dr. told us to have her sleep sitting in her car seat or elevate the head of her bed. That keeps the pressure from building up in the ears so bad. Seems to have worked, she was able to sleep through the night.

Good luck, hope she feels better soon.

your doctor can prescribe some numbing medication for the ears to help with the pain. IT works wonders. Also let her sleep on an incline (head propped up) it helps the sluid to drain. Put a pillow under her mattress. Good luck...

YEs, get the numbing drops. Also, try warm compress on the ear...it soothes the baby's ear from the pain! Have you given her any tylenol? It can also help with the pain and let her sleep a little.

She should be better after two or three days on the antibiotic. Until then, I don't know what to tell you. If her irritability continues longer than that, take her back to the pediatrician. With my older son, he had recurring ear infections. He had been on amoxicillin som many times, they prescribed one for him called Omnicef, and it did nothing. 10 days later when we went back for his re-check, his ears were still infected. :(

You need to use whatever medication that the doctor prescribes for ear infections

It isn't something that could help right now but have you thought about chiropractic? They are very successful in helping infants/children with ear infections.

Squirting human milk into her ear will help with the pain *and* help heal. In fact, some mothers find that it heals them faster than a prescription antibiotic (human milk is antibacterial and antiviral).
