The cost of the conversion will be higher than the cost of purchasing a 4 wheel drive replacement. You should be able to trade your truck for a 4 wheel drive for a couple of thousand dollars difference. You are looking at spending a whole lot more than that to try to do the conversion, and no matter how good the work is, it will not be a good as a factory 4 wheel drive!!

You would do much by trading in your 03 for an 07 4WD. Look, you'll need a transfer case, linkages, computer modifications, front steering and suspension modifications and a front axle for starters. By the time you are done, you could have bought a new truck.

Trade it in on a 4 wheel drive model.
A front diff alone would cost about $1500.00 and a transfer case about $2500.00.
