about how big is the hole for a 10 gauge piercing both when the piercing is in and when the piercing is out (i understand that it shrinks a little when the piercing is out.) what is the diameter of the earing itself?

10 gauge.

remember that hole will stretch too! so they try to make it as close as possible.

unless it's cartilage then they make the hole a wee bigger.
