"Shine on you Crazy Diamond"

The entire Wish album was a tribute to Syd but this was the masterwork and not just because it's 16 minutes long. The instrumental and the different movements make it remenicent of a symphony. It is a short rock symphony actually. The lyrics are haunting and very meaningful at the same time.

"Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far." There was a very long time when no one knew where Syd was and even after he turned up no one knew where is personality was because he blew his mind on drugs.

Being a Syd fan yourself I'm sure you can relate to this song most of all.

See Emily Play... Every fan should listen to the "Piper at the gates of dawn" album... I must admit, however, they are among the elite few bands that I liked everything they ever did, regardless of the particular album, and will listen to every album all the way through. Saw them only once, but it was a truly religious experiance. Who wants to board the time machine and go back to the late sixties and hit the concert circuit??? ( My personal favorite fantasy ) if that thought doesn't get you yearning for old time rock & roll, you are looking at the wrong site... Peace !!!
