I don't think it's a huge mistake at all. I find if I am rude to people, I encounter people treating me more poorly. If I am nice to everyone, it generally tends to make people nicer to me, but also make me feel better about myself because I feel like I am making a difference in someones life. Small, but still meaningful. It helps your whole outlook on life if you are nice, instead of walking around like you hate everyone.

It's never a mistake to be nice to someone . This way you have made an effort and if it doesn't turn out to be a friendly journey , then you know . but, if it turns out to be a pleasent one , it worth the effort .It would be a lonely world out there if we didn't try to be nice .

well i can't say for other people on here i can tell you that I always try and be nice on here with my answers and sometimes i try and be truthful too but there are a few who do not like that.
being nice will get you more than being ugle just be yourself.

That is what you should do - you get what you give in this world. Of course, you must also be kind to yourself and not allow others to take advantage or run your life. It's a delicate balancing act.
