There have been studies that have shown that individuals who are hiring for jobs tend to gravitate toward the more attractive of two equally qualified applicants. Since being overweight obviously detracts from one's attractiveness, then I suppose that the overweight people sometimes lose out on jobs. In general, I don't like it when people make fat jokes (like comedians). It's just a cheap shot. It's like it's too easy, you know? It's no longer socially acceptable to make fun of or judge almost ANYBODY except fat people!

As a "fat person", I can say "YES" there are many cases where I have been unfairly treated.
I have been lucky in my job, I get good pay...etc.
I have however, had people make comments rather loudly (so that I may obviously hear them). Small children, I can understand, but not grown adults or older kids.
My usual reply to them is, "Yes, I AM fat, and YOU are ugly. At least I can go on a diet!".
Fat people are usually generalized as lazy slobs. Well, I work 40 - 60 hours per week outside the home, do all the shopping, cooking, and cleaning for my home, care for my elderly mother and my husband's father (who had a stroke 7 years ago).
I understand that it is human nature to stereotype people-fat=lazy, blonde=dumb, Muslim=terrorist, latino=illegal....but people have to learn to look at the individual first.

being fat, the only time i think it affects me is when i go for a job interview. Not being thin and attending the interview probably makes the interviewer think if this person can't take care of himself how will he take care of the position. Secondly being fat means that it's likely they'll employ someone who is good looking possibly the reason why i go past canary wharf everyday on the tube and all good looking thin people get off there who don't really seem qualified for the positions they are in. Being fat also means you'll probably get left in the office once you do get a job and no-one asks you out anywhere presumably becuase they're repulsed by you. Finally when you turn up to kfc etc you get repulsed looks also.

Sometimes. In schools, some fat kids are treated very cruelly, and in other circumstances, too. But also, some fat people are jerks and they use their fatness to get money (I'm sueing McDonalds because their food make me get heart disease). THey're the ones that ATE the food. I think fat people should be treated the same as others, but if being overwieght is controllable to them (some people have disease that wont let them lose wieght and other times it's genetic) then they shouldn't get fat in the first place. If they're getting treated poorly because they're overwieght, then they should stop EATING and start EXERCISING.

I agree, I artwork with them too. what's frightening to me is the day back a pair months in the past, at the same time as all the illegals took an similar day without work to make a level that they are helping the economic device. each honestly one of them could 've been fired from their job. they're over the following illegally yet they sense like they ought to have rights. very last I checked shouldn't you be a American citizen in the previous you've any rights in this usa? I say boycott the mexican eating places you spot capturing up in all places. i imagine whoever needs to come back to us of a should be allowed to, in the adventure that they do it legally. If no longer word the punishment their usa could use hostile to you sneaking into their usa.

I think they are unfairly advantaged: when I catch a plane, I shouldn't have to pay as much as an obese fatso: they should have to pay more.
Same with my taxes - fat people have to go to the doctor more, so they should pay higher taxes.

not in any country but they do have a bad habit of trying to be larger than life charachters,, just to try and fit in to the so called normal society,,
i believe in being your self at all times, if someone loves or likes you it should be for what you really are as a person and not some falsehood act,, love yourself or how do you expect others to love you,, peace x
