The only spotting I know is during pregnancy where you bleed a little. This could means that there is a treatened pregnancy or other problems.
It is quite common and usually does not mean anything but it is advisable that you inform your gynae immediately.

i'll assume because this is the Women's Health section that this is female oreinted and not like a cheetah spotting. It has to do with how much a woman is bleeding on her period, spotting indicates that she is hardly bleeding, just enough to make small spots on her underwear or pad.

It has many meanings: 1) you're a "lookout" keeping your eyes open for people approaching; 2) you have you're period or are pregnant and there are some drops of blood coming out; 3) discoloration of cloth, walls, other items brought on by sun, humidity or temperature changes;4) you're lending someone money.....That's all I can think of....Help any?

1) spotting someone when lifting weights is helping them if they need help, basically watchin them
2) spotting can be the little spots of blood when your period is about to start.
