Well if you were sat there quietly, she could have felt you were not paying attention to her or ignoring her. Maybe she felt you were more interested in something else than her, every now and then it might have helped to talk alittle bit to her, even if it was something like 'how was your day?'.
If she picked a fight with you over something you had said, then try and think back to what you said before - you obviously said something to annoy or upset her. If not, just ask her what caused the arguing, and were you went wrong and then apologise. This way you keep the peace and learn not to make the same mistake twice.

Ahhh, get rid of pronto. Women like her give women in general a bad name. Peace and quiet is nice and doesn't need any woman to spoil it. I had the same problems with an ex-boyfriend years ago. If it was quiet, he wasn't happy and would pick a fight with me for no reason, other than he was never happy unless he was fighting with someone, usually me. Ditch her if she won't change her ways - you don't need a sock puppet constantly in your ear hole.

I don't know what it is with us women but we love to argue. Is it her time of the month or have you been quiet with her alot here lately. Anywho get the topic of discussion on something that she likes to talk about.

you said something
maybe this was a one way discussion ie she speaks and you shut up..just nod at appropriate moments
if you say yes and no intermittently she will test you..beware..you need to listen carefully for the traps
