A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.
It is one of the funniest books books I've ever read. It has wonderful "word pictures" that make you laugh out loud. It takes place in New Orleans...before Katrina...and really catches the flavor of the city. The main character, Ignatius J. Reilly, is worth the price of admission all by himself.

"Girl 15 Charming but Insane" by Sue Limb
I bought this book at a young writers convention a couple years ago, and I completely fell in love with it! I really don't read a lot, but I've read this book twice. I like it because it's different from other books. Sue Limb lives in Europe, and I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it was different than other books I have read. It talks about the things that I can relate to, and it's not conservative in that way. Don't get me wrong.. it's an appropriate book, but it goes places other authors are too timid to go to. Check it out!!
(also..."Girl nearly 16 absolute torture"..the next one in the series)

King Fortis the Brave - it's about a pair of twins that are pulled into a magical world where they are caught up in the battle for control of the land. With just the right amount of humor and adventure it is one of my favorite books

Ella Enchanted....the movie was nothing like the book. It's about a girl who was cursed- she had to obey anyone that gave her an order, no matter what it was. She falls inlove with the prince but her stepsisters try to ruin that for her.....It is a new twist on cinderella. Read it!

A psychics guide - The other side and back - by Sylvia Browne.
It really opens your eyes and your mind to the concept of the afterlife and great beyond. It is easy to read and informative. Well written and in explained in simple terms. I would even recommend it to skeptics.

the bible, why? It's everything my life needs to be complete. are the best set of written works, there are stories of love, compassion adventure, excellence, adversity, light and darkness. Above all these things, it tells me i'm not alone in this life, while i struggle through all being human has to offer, God cares about who I am, loved me enough to make the ultimate sacrifice and smiles on me each morning i wake up.
