Learn Direct do something called initial assessment, an online "test" which you can take both in literacy and numeracy to determine which level you are.

This course checks your skills and helps you to decide where to start your learning.

Before you begin, you can warm up in the "demonstration area" with some practice questions. Then, when you are happy with how the programme works, answer the questions as they come onto the screen.

You will answer questions that test your number and word skills. And as you work, the programme will build a clear picture of your level in each area.

When you have answered all the questions, you will see your results straight away! A diagram shows which areas you scored well in and which you need to improve.

Depends what country you are in. If you are in England stay away from University of Central England in Birmingham. Its crap. I did an access course at City College in Birmingham and it was excellent. I am now in my honours year of a degree in Environmental Biology at the University of Paisley and I am loving every minute of it.

If you need help in deciding where to go to college etc, try contacting Learn Direct. They should be able to help. When you choose your university course, talk to existing or past students. They will be able to tell you what the place is really like.
