Been married for 4 years...he doesn't help a lot, but a lot more than some men I know.

Sounds like depression. It will pass. The housework will be there tommorrow and so what if it doesnt get done. Just do what you really have to do and take a break. Don't forget, men are men. Sometimes you have to give them baby steps. Write down little lists, nothing too much and then just brag on what a good job they did even if you have to go back and r-do it. It makes them want to help more. They just have to be told. Not screamed at or nagging. They will tune you out. at least he does something. It will get better, take a breather.

I have these days/weeks sometimes. Just NO motivation. Sooooo....I've created a little thing that helps both my children and I. (Especially when Spongebob is on or Big Brother!!)
We do "commercial cleaning". On the commercials, we JUMP and RUN and do as MUCH as we can in those 2-3 minutes. You will be AMAZED at what you can get done in the span of one show! LOL! Sounds crazy, but hey....it gets the job done on those days when all you want to do is sit in front of the TV. Good luck!

I'm not much for housework either. Never have been and probably never will be. My husband didn't marry me for my housecleaning or my cooking skills.....guess I had something else to offer. lol
It has been my experience that those who live in really clean houses get sick more often than those who don't as they never build up an immunity to germs because they are never exposed to germs.
If you really need to clean, tho, I agree with Ken J's answer - invite folks over and then you have no choice but to get the work done.

Have had the same problem for years-- decided I just don't like housework. After retirement I decided to get myself someone to do floors/dust/bathrooms-- what ever else comes up in the time she is here. I earned it-- and I bought it. Kinda crazy for one person and two cats-- but I like it very much. I'm freed to do things I do like-- sew, church, canning. I find I'm much happier.
No way to know your circumstances-- but just maybe one of the big chores is the one you are stuck about--I suggest that if you can find out what it is-- you talk with girlfriends and see if you can swap your awful chore for one of hers..... Of course, hiring someone is good-- but you probably have too many needs for income at this time of your life.

This is what I do: I have a two story house and two teenagers who don't help as much as they should, but I have a great routine. Mondays---Sweep, mop and vaccum all floors. Tuesday----clean baseboards, Wed--clean all bathrooms Thursday--Clean ceiling fans and dust. Friday--just pick up what ever is out of place. I do at least one load of laundry a day so I don't get really behind. This really works so you don't have to spend hours and hours cleaning. On the weekends I grocery shop and clean out the frig and pantry. Sunday is a day to relax and enjoy family time. My husband normaly does the yard work.

Make your kids do it.
Or you could offer him sultry cents and when he collects a certain amount of sultry cents he can do one thing he really wants to do like get a BJ or try it from behind, or having a boys poker night where you serve drinks in a corset and white thigh highs.. Give him say 5 sultry cents for doing the dishes or 4 for vacuuming.

i have been married for 3 years and my motivation is my kids because a clean house is a heathy house.Im not a neat freak or anything like that a just keep it tidy.
