I don't like the rule either...my mom always has to stop me from wearing white and it bugs me a lot! I see people wear white all the time after Labor Day, and so do I.

No, it's just a stupid rule made up by some people. People say it's because you want to keep cool during the summer so you wear light colors and you want to be warm during the fall/winter so you wear darker colors so white will make you colder in the winter but I just got a white denim jacket and I plan on wearing all through the fall.

It was made up by those snooty high brow society snobs. I think it is a stupid rule, especially since they make white sweaters! (that people wear when it's colder...after Labor Day.) I wear what I want, when I want, and you should too!

That rule doesn't really apply anymore. I don't know where it came from, but I assume that it originates from the custom of wearing certain colors for each season. No one cares when you wear white anymore.
