I moved to the US to be with my wife. Had a bag and 100 bucks.

Don't give up.

Ohboy....

My husband and I had this same dillemma 4 years ago. He ended up moving out here to the States from the UK and we got married. We are still together.

Problem is though, your partner only has a limited amount of time to be in your country with you before you have to either marry, or they have to leave. So you don't get as much time as you would like to work out the "bugs" so to speak--you just have to hope for the best.

...and carrying on by phone, internet, and plane really starts to suck after a while.

Good luck to you!

P.S. If you DO decide to marry (and I'm not suggesting that you do--only to think things out first), make sure that one of you is not possibly using the other for entry or citizenship to the other country.

Sometimes you don't really know a person until you live together. Save up some plane fare...but have enough for a return flight, in case it doesn't work out. Romance is fine, but you have to be practical too.

Don't give up, distant love is better than never knowing love.
