No, although part of me would feel compelled to watch, almost to respect and recognize the life that was coming to an end. I know that I wouldn't watch though. If it got good TV ratings, then the government in control might get the ideas that it was popular with the public. No matter what the crime, it is not within our rights to deal out life and death. It's basically committing murder ourselves, and then we have to ask ourselves if we don't deserve the same fate. I think that we should give out life jail sentences instead, to prevent the criminal from 'relapsing', as a punishment and deterrent. Let them live out their lives in a carefully controlled environment and 'leave room for the Lord's judgment'. That's my opinion, anyway...

Yes!
1) I'm a reality TV junkie and it doesn't get more real than that!
2) It might actually cause a drop in crime if people couldn't actually witness executions!

As a deterrent to crime, there should be public executions. I would watch.

TV ad: "John Doe, convicted child rapist and murderer, will be executed at midnight. Live coverage starting at 11:45."

A strong society needs to be tough on crime. It wouldn't be cruel and unusual if we just did it more often.

Hmmmm... That's totally barbaric. I think it would take a long time for the majority of the people to have the interest to watch it (e.g., execution by beheading in Saudi Arabia; execution by hanging in Afghanistan; execution by firing squad in UAE; execution by leathal injection in the Philippines... etc... have fun watching, ladies and gents!).

No i wouldnt, its one of those things that brings out the worst in people. The fact that we would even consider watching others killed is feral and backwards!! like during the French revolution the uncultured common folk would come to watch people say hello to monseuir guillotine's creation!! i guess its different now cuz its an injection that sends you to sleep...a deep slumber, so not as eventful as three centuries ago, so why even watch?? its barbaric!!!

stay public executions were problem-free in some international places as lots because the twentieth century, and nonetheless are in some factors of the global. previous the impact that justice is being served, that is likewise used to intimidate. we've considered lots gory, glorified, glossed-up, image suited violence on television, and interior the action pictures, that i wager it is going to likely be style of anticlimatic for recent audiences, except for the certainly undeniable actuality that it will likely be the actual situation. i does no longer watch it both.

i think people are sadistic enough to do so... i would be disgusted and angry if they did and if i ever did watch which is v v unlikely i would be really sad and throw up especially if it was gruesome... i think its sad that people can be entertained by torture look at bullfights... they make me angry and feel revolution ! ... However there are always people out there who enjoy them... Humanities biggest flaw which happens quite often is our ability to sometimes detach ourselves from acts of violence or torture and not see the animal or human being as an all feeling and whole being anymore...
If humanity didnt have that flaw of turning a blind eye most of our problems would be solved and humanity would live in peace...

Not usually, it's a fairly boring process from a clinical point of view, and unless one has a personal interest in the case it holds little interest.

I would probably watch the first one that went on TV, just for the novelty of it.
