al-Qaeda fully supports the slaughtering of innocent Shiite Muslims in Iraq, in order to stir up a civil war. Yet when the conflict between Israel and Lebanon began, al-Qaeda pops up, claiming that they will "Avenge their brothers in Lebanon," who also happen to be Shiite muslims.

I find it surprising that any Muslim would take this group seriously, and I find it difficult to comprehend why some Muslims in Iraq continue to die for such demented causes.

Welcome to the world of politics. You see the same thing in this country with politics - albeit, a lot less bloody. People of one group will criticize another for doing things they would defend members of their own group for doing. Politicians will use any event in any way they can to advance their agenda.

Americans and Israelis have killed more Muslims over the past few decades than both of them and Saddam all added together, so AQ certainly doesn't have a monopoly

Until Muslims come clean and stand as one against terror, the "Alqaeda's of the world have a free reign on terror. Hezbollah in fact probably have killed more innocent people than Alqaeda has. So there is not an monopoly on stupidity.
