Always a shame to make teenagers suffer through the written or film "classics" when they won't have enough life-experience to appreciate them for several more years.
But I would include the standard canon:
Citizen Kane
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Wizard of Oz
etc...
I'd also include "ET," "Jurassic Park," "The Deer Hunter," and "Apollo 13."

or did you mean to ask whick movies made in english a teenage must watch? In that case, John Carpenter's "They LIve" is the greatest scifi movie ever. Its about a guy who dscovers aliens have taken over. It had Rowdy Rodney PIper. Hes a retired wrestler. here's a link to the trailor
