Always a shame to make teenagers suffer through the written or film "classics" when they won't have enough life-experience to appreciate them for several more years.
But I would include the standard canon:
Citizen Kane
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Wizard of Oz
etc...
I'd also include "ET," "Jurassic Park," "The Deer Hunter," and "Apollo 13."
