You've asked a very interesting question. With adulthood comes new responsibilities, college/job/career/ stress, marriage/family stress, bills/financial stress. All of these can act to kill our youthful enthusiasm, carefree attitude, zest for life, sense of wonder and adventure. For whatever reason, some people make the transition and become a responsible adult without losing much of that wonderful youthful spirit and energy. Those are people I envy and admire the most. Unfortunately, some others lose it altogether, and it's sad. I believe most of us end up somewhere in between, keeping just enough of our former wide-eyed optimism and carefree attitude to both manage our lives and enjoy it at the same time.

since I am an adult I chose to be carefree and not worry about anything but in honesty i could start from scratch and it still wouldn't bother me. people say I haven't changed but I know that I have they just don't want to hear the knowledge that I have and that is sad but yet the tell me to grow up and yet the call me to fix almost everything and they just sit there and relax and give me money and I make it look hard but they still don't want to learn so In my opinion when you become an adult you give up the innocence to look at the world as an open book and by doing that give up the chance to be creative and think outside of the box!! That is why people say I cant do that when they realy can but just refuse to see!

joe b. has a great answer! Also, what you loose as you mature mentally and emotionally is not as much as it is your perspective on life can be different. You approach and understand things that you have heard adults do and say as you were growing up that at the time didn't make sense. As you enter different stages in life(i.e. young adulthood, middle age, and the "golden years") you find yourself understanding life at that stage much better than you understood it before you were an adult. If you are young right now this probably is not very meaningful to you. Let's use an example you will be able to relate to. When you see very young children doing and saying things you might think it's silly now that you are older. Well, that's how it is as you reach the different stages in life.

I think the world is less of a mystery to you as you gain experience in a myriad of things, and therefore alot of things aren't as exciting to you.

YOU LOSE YOUR INNOCENCE WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT THE WORLD DOES NOT ORBIT YOU AND YOUR PRIORITIES.....YOU REALIZE THAT YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM AND THAT YOU HAVE CHOICES.....YOU REALIZE THAT OTHERS THAT HAVE BEEN ALIVE LONGER HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE.......YOU REALIZE THAT THE WORLD DOES NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING AND THE WORLD DOES NOT CATER TO YOU.....YOU REALIZE THAT EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN PRIORITIES AND THAT SOMETIMES THEY CONFLICT......YOU REALIZE THAT YOU CANNOT MAKE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU.....
