w/all due respect to mr. daniel craig, whom i will try very hard to view objectively this fall, what about the following top five for consideration to play agent 007:
#1 - adrian paul, tv's highlander. he could handle the action(like connery), he's a ruggedly good looking guy(like connery), and he looks pretty menacing when he wants to.
#2 - christian bale - for the same reasons as above. in between bat-films, think he would put a verrrry interesting stamp on the character.
#3 - colin farrell - for the same reasons. though he has expressed no interest and is quite too short in stature, i would like to see him in character and take a whack w/one film, at least.
#4 - clive owen - my least fave on the list but, after seeing him in the bourne identity, i had 2nd thoughts that maybe he could pull it off.
#5 - sean connery...still! the one and only bond! perhaps he could pull off the ultimate and film.....the death of james bond and put all future speculaton to rest, what say you?

I always thought that Farrell would make an interesting bond. Perhaps with a pair of elevator shoes. I would love to see Connery come back to the series but as M. He would be a former field agent who knows Bond better than anyone else can because he was just like Bond when he was younger. He would also be the only one who could intimidate Bond for the same reason. Bond knows that his BS and bravado won't work on M.

Sean Connery, definately! But I still prefer Pierce Brosnan - The Familiar Face of James Bond, to me.

I am a huge Christian Bale fan. I'm going to say Christian Bale all the way. I think he would be the best James Bond ever. I wish there more questions like yours. Christian Bale all the way.

Well....if you ask me to go for only one among those you provided....I will select No.5 - Sean Connery....still the best choice for everybody to play James Bond. If he refuses, then better let us sign cute and hardhitter Pierce......who is still available.

JAMES PUREFOY gave an audition for the role but Mr. Craig took it unfortunetly.(tihs in case you didn't know). But from the ones you asked probably Clive Owen would have done a good job. My favorite is and will remain Pierce Brosnan.

You're forgetting one. I personally think Ralph Fiennes would make a good Bond. Just my opinion, though.
