Totally natural but you must ride it out to grow and become an independent adult. It is necessary. You can still keep in touch. It will pass.

While your letter is sad and I feel for you, it is also refreshing to know there are still young adults out there that love and miss their parents. I'm a parent to grown children and believe me, you have just paid your parents a complement.
In all new things there is a certain adjustment period. It can be scary and exciting at the same time. You will make new Friends and grow into this new life with each passing day. What you are feeling is a normal reaction. Within no time you will be smiling again and a happy college student.
Much luck to you in school and once you become accustomed to college and make friends, don't forget to call your parents. Being a parent, I had to add that.

Dear it's going to be OK. It's good that you are close with your parents and it' just fine to have a good cry. Once you do you will feel alot better. Then clean up your face and either call a close friend and maybe go for a walk. Check out the Camus, go to the student center and see whats going on. You might meet some people who will be in some of your classes. It will get better so give it time. You parents are proud of you as well or they would not have brought you there. All children get homesick so think of this as a vacation. Good luck

Just get out of your room and start meeting people. I was sad at first when my parents left but then I started meeting people and by the end of the first week I was having so much fun that I didn't even think about home at all. Going away to college can be hard at times, but it's supposed to be lots of fun. Just be strong and be brave these first few days and you'll get through it and hopefully come out of it with some great friends and some great stories. GOOD LUCK!

You'll be fine. Just remember that a lot of the freshman class feels the same way. You will all get through this together.
