Where do I donate used sneakers for use by school basketball teams in Central and South America?

I recently had read of an individual who was collecting used sneakers in the Bay Area to take to Central or South America to help start school basketball programs. I want to find him and donate some sneakers.

I would suggest contacting the NBA in New York or the NCAA. I'm sure that either one of these two organizations would help.
