The computer comes with a "Restoration CD" simply put the cd in the drive and reboot the computer. When the computer reboots it will give you an option to "Restore PC to factory condition". If you no longer have that CD, or you were supposed to Create the CD when you first bought the computer but didn't, then contact the Manufacturer and order a Recovery CD..it may cost $25 or so...but they will do it for you. Your computer may still be under warrenty and they might send you one for free too.

see windows xp comes with option of automated system recovery (ASR),,,by this u can restore ur computer's status to previous option ,,,,without loosing ur precious data like videos/photos and music or other data u may be have in ur system...and this does not require u to format..........so it is usefull and if u have good knowledge of computers u can do it ur slef... i will tell u how get a blank floppy disk and insert in the drive ;;;;;now go to ..."programs" then system tools then there u will browse to "backup utility" and u will then browse to "ASR" click there and follow the dialouge box there it will appear that what types of files u want to save....on floppy ...save system files that are of the operating system,,,,,,,,,,,, it will appear all there in the dialogue box u need to follow it ....then click make the ASR floppy after u have prepared the floopy then restart ur computer and enter "BIOS setup" and browse to boot options set floppy drive as first option and save the changes and exit.....now u will booot from floppy disk and follow the dialouge box there and ur computer is now ready ..... u then will change boot option in BIOS setup again to the disk partition which is ur system directory mostly it is "c drive"...check which of ur drive partition has windows files in it ( by right clicking on the folder browse to propertis and u can find it )........this is an alternative to formating which formats all ur data..... it seems a bit difficult but it works and is very usefull,,,,,,,if u hav some problem consult some system engineer and he will help u about ASR.....wish u best of luck ....if any problem email me ,,,,,,ok

First, go to the Trend Micro website (if you are able) and run their free virus scan or run a similar virus scan (Norton, McAfee etc).
When you are sure there are no viruses infecting your pc, use the cd that came with your pc to boot the system and see if it runs normally. Boot the PC in SAFE mode and see if it appears to run normally. (You won't be able to do certain things like open internet explorer).
If that is ok, reboot in normal mode. If you still have the problem, re-install the Windows system. If you really need to, you might have to reformat the hard disk; be careful, though...make sure you have backed up any documents or data files on your hard drive first.

Save your files to disk or CD and then reformat the PC. I just did mine and it's like new. My PC had a clicking sound in the tower and not it's gone. The PC is running better. Good luck!
