Maybe but you would have to rely on the kindness of strangers(which I do not suggest).
You would have to stay with either friends or family every part of the way (so you wouldnt waste money on a hotel) and you would have to barter for good tickets.

I say no because the average ticket to another country is atleast 800 one way (if you live in the U.S.)

I saw a show about a kid who graduated from high school and hitchhiked to Alaska with like $10 in his pocket. He basically found low level work or panhandled as he made his way up there. The sad end of the story was he died as he found himself in the woods in Alaska and cut off by a river and he ate some poisonous berries. But that aside - the guy did do some serious adventure travel based just on guts and gusto. I'd say that if you're willing to scratch for work as you go and live very cheaply it can be done though not possible for the average person.

Yes, but you might not enjoy the trip.

1. Step in front of a bus and kill yourself. (Cost: free).
2. Leave instructions that you are to be cremated. (Cost: as little as $300)
3. Have a friend in your home town mail your ashes to another friend in Europe. That person will send the package on to another friend in Japan. That person will send you back to your first friend here in the U.S. (Cost: about $150, depending on what postal rate you'd like to travel by).

There. You've been around the world for less than $500. And just think, you didn't have to go through airport security.

Yeh, buy a really cheap used working boat, use the rest of the money for supplies. Sail around the world, place to place, doing odd jobs at each place to gain extra cash

Sorry hun yet $800 can no longer get you very far. start up saving up your money, and make it a purpose for 2-3 years from now. Or, grow to be a flight attendant, and gets a commission to commute!

Yes but it will take you years and years to complete the journey becoz you will be working for the people you visit, so that you can get free meals and board and money for your transport to the next destination.
