It seems that nowadays the enemy truly is within. London, home to 600k Muslim now has protests in the street that glorify Hezbollah. The recent plottters in the failed liquid bomb attacks were all young Muslims born or living in England. With a nascent and growing political power do you foresee the demise of Western values and a hard bend toward a pro-islamic political strategy that is soft on terrorism?

Yeah...and just what is their mission anyway? Too die for their belief they'll go directly to a place nobody can prove exists?
Too kill all infidels here on earth before they go? They believe we are all their free admission ticket in? They are brainwashed and make no sense. Were are warring with insanity.but it won't be the first time...it will be costly in lives and money...but No I don't see the demise in Western values over this. I do believe were are in WW III though.

Reason for concern???
In an astonishingly frank article in Spectator, Patrick Sookhdeo argues that it is only a matter of time before the UK becomes an Islamic State.
The Muslim community now inhabits principally the urban centres of England as well as some parts of Scotland and Wales. It forms a spine running down the centre of England from Bradford to London, with ribs extending east and west. It is said that within 10 to 15 years most British cities in these areas will have Muslim-majority populations, and will be under local Islamic political control, with the Muslim community living under Sharia.
What happens after this stage depends on which of the two main religious traditions among Pakistani-background British Muslims gains the ascendancy. The Barelwi majority believe in a slow evolution, gradually consolidating their Muslim societies, and finally achieving an Islamic state. The Deobandi minority argue for a quicker process using politics and violence to achieve the same result. Ultimately, both believe in the goal of an Islamic state in Britain where Muslims will govern their own affairs and, as the finishing touch, everyone else’s affairs as well.

Before any group of immigrants becomes a threat to the status quo, the indigenous population will become defensively aggressive.

Laws will be passed, agitators arrested, even internment camps are not out of the question.

Democracy has many forms. The US has been a democracy since 1776, but not the same people have rights now than had them then.

Most immigrants to the US are encouraged monetarily to acclimate and attempt to assimilate.

In the UK and Canada (where I live) immigrants are encouraged to maintain the cultural identity of their homeland as a sign of our tolerance. it is of course, a stupid policy, as it only encourages those hostile to the west to remain out of sight and mind of the authorities and the general population.

and it marginalizes them economically by keeping them away from the mainstream job market.

But the west is not so weak and powerless as is generally supposed. If an identitfiable group causes enough problems, they will be dealt with.

people will sacrifice freedom for security to make it happen.

The West must come to grips with and face the fact that these Moslems do not want to assimilate to the point of having a loss of their religious beliefs. No matter how modernistic some are, they are still trying to be true to the Koran and the teachings of Islamic law. It is not in the interest of any Western-style government to overlook the possibility of the overall aim of the spread of their religion causing major disruptions. They feel wherever they have a handhold in a country, it has become a target to become a new Moslem nation

Yes, because the Muslim religion, and Democracy are two different views of thought. That's why unless Iraq gets some Divine intervention, democracy will never survive over there. And the U.S.A. is simply wasting money, time, and young lives for nothing.

No. Neither democracy nor other religion nor other freedom will survive in the West for very long (in historical terms), against the massive and increasing influx of Muslims, with their far higher birth rates and block voting habit.

Already they are having an effective veto on what is printed in newspapers, or shown in the theater. And you are now seeing the beginning of veto on foreign policy.

The Muslim government model in the Koran is that of a hereditary, all powerful leader, descendant of Muhammad, who is merciful and consults wise men, but has absolute power to decide.

But you cannot complain too much. It is we who voted for the leaders who put our countries in that position, without a referendum or even a vote in parliament.

The Eagle will prevail. Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness will never end in the USA.

I believe the only reason Muslims immigrate to this country, or the west, is to flee oppression in their own country. It may take a little time but I believe we'll all learn to co-exist, and live in peace.

The general public will not allow Muslim fundamentalists to carry on their terrorist plots, once they realize that they are in jeapordy from even the home grown kind. They'll smarten up, revoke their visa, and deport the non naturalized citizens back to the homeland that spawned them. If more plots are dicoverd, it will be the the same citizenry that will take up arms against them.
If there is any softening politically towards terrorism, I predict that there will be underground groups that will form, vigilantes if you will, that will provide counter terrorism enforcement without the auspoces of any current legally endowed body.

I think the impact of immigrants in both our country's has caused nothing but problems and it shows everyday. Unless our politicians and courts start seeing this and acting on changing the laws to correct the devastation these people are placing on us that we are in deep s*** in the up-coming years. In the USA we have the ACLU who through manipulations is destroying the very laws that are needed to stop what is going on today. Seems that every time a new law is created, such as all immigrant's driving licenses should be noted of their status in the country printed on them, a jack-a** lawyer gets the law throw en out in the courts for some ignorant reason. We need tougher laws and no one is doing anything about it. There is so much to be done to correct what imbecilic politicians have created that should be corrected but it seems that no one seems to care.
