Twice in my brief experience on Yahoo answers, have seen "celebrities" appear somewhere in an answer or question I may have asked or answered. Do others find it amazing that people ignore "common folk" and their questions while they rush to answer "celebrity" inquiries? Does anyone else think this a bit brown nosing? Why the crowding?

Yes, the Bono question was one to which I was referencing. I answered the question as well but still do not know who this cat is but have been privy to information that he is a champion of one of my own causes, poverty. I was quite surprised when I went in to check my answer to find over 27,000 responses. And then today a one "John Woo" appeared in a response. Yahoo staff themselves confirmed it is indeed the film director. Although I am not sure if I have seen any of his films, Mission Impossible the most noted on the list and I didn't even see that one. So....thanks for answering a
"common folk" question. Peace.

Well.....I think its a kind of mentality of general public to "run after" celebrities as and when opportunity stands before them. Its another matter that they know very little of that particular celebrity. But it gives them a kind of "safeness" to promote answer and gain 2 vital points to see their bag bulging with marks. I myself have witnessed number of questions about celebrities and that too of very "low" quality and nature. One can ask number of good questions if he or she wishes to know more about that specific celebrity....but no, they would simply go for just one dirty purpose which is very demeaning. You said about "common folk"... yes, there are thousands topic which can be compounded with common folk, and I am glad to say here that more and more nice and studious people are participating in this manner which is a welcome factor. Meanwhile we can opt for "ignore" those questions which we think are absolutely nonsense.

It is a fact of life. Most things, if not all, are political to some degree. You have a great attitude, sharp mind, teasing wit....those will carry you far...all the way up the YQ&A ladder!!! Keep your eyes on those rungs!

Hope Dave B returns soon...you two are very entertaining!
