and contemporary bead curtains? i mean, they're good coasters - even useful mirrors, betimes - but i don't need that many coasters. i've thought of building furniture with them. any other ideas?

done the microwave (bad for microwav, and, possibly, you, though cool) and haven't vineyard nor orchard. good lookin' out, tho'!

the solar cooker sounds exciting. with a big enough area, i wouldn't even have to cut 'em, merely arrange them, precisely (ala archimede's heat ray). keep 'em comin'!

Well, my step-dad took a bunch of silver ones and carefly cut them (use a good glass cutter on the plastic side, then fold carefully along the scoring mark) into smaller peices. Then he hot glued them to the inside of an old wok. Drive a large stainless steel rod up through the bottom. Point this at the sun on clear day and use it to cook hot dogs.

one of my friends once had a lot of cd's laying around so she glued then on her bedroom door in a rectangle and made kind of like a full length mirror. it also looked cool

I've seen them decorating outside trees for Christmas-- really shine and spin.

If you hang them from fruit trees or grape vines, they will scare away the birds that want to steal your fruit.
