In 1844 in Persia, a group of Shi'a Muslims went in search of the Promised One of both Christianity and of Shi'a Islam. In the city of Shiraz, one of them encountered a young man that declared that He was the One that they were seeking. When challenged, the young man, known as the Bab (Gate of God), said that it was up to God to test the faithful, not the other way around. Nevertheless, He gave an interpretation of one of the Suras of the Qur'an that proved His claim. Thus was the Bab'i Faith born. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babism for more info.)

The problem with looking for the Messiah is that it really is He that is looking for you. If that is kept in mind, then the way to see the Promised One is by the fruits of His (or Her) teachings. That is where faith comes into play.

Hope that helps.

Are you asking "How will we know who Jesus is when he returns?" If so, here's my answer...(If not, please ignore).

You will know it in your heart - in your soul. You will feel it. You will trust him or her. You will love him or her. You will just "know" it.

Who's to say they have not come and gone already? Who's to say they aren't here with us now?

The next "Mesia" will be just like you. They will be human. They will have faults. They will learn. They will die. They will do their work here on earth and then they will leave. Then will come the next "Mesia" and they will be the same.

May I ask what it matters anyway? Do you need to have some figure appear in order to live the life God intended you to? What would it change? Would anyone care? Would anyone beilieve?

Follow your heart and you will by nature be following God. The man we knew as Jesus may have died a hundred years ago but God has never left us. God is with you 24/7. Follow your heart and if you're still alive when the next "Mesia" is revealed, you will know because you will be walking the same path.

That is easy. First, the true Messiah, Jesus, has some very distinctive scars, on his wrists, feet and side. Ask to see those, if he refuses, you can leave. Second, ask if he believes that God came in the flesh in Jesus Christ.(1 John 4:3) If he deinies it, he is a liar. Third, does he believe the Bible(Old and New Testament) is the innerrant word of God. If he denies it, then he is definitely not the Messiah. Fourth, ask him if truth is objective? If he says no, then he has just contradicted himself, laugh at him and leave. This a bit overstated, but it is certainly fool proof and based on scripture.

Its all subjective!!! being christian anyone but the father the son and holy spirit is false, i know my muslim friends believe its Mohammed or BUST!! yeah so whatever you believe will claim to be the only true messiah...yeah but i do believe that some of the new "religions" that have no significant historical background and are so farfetched are very QUESTIONABLE. Man just do what you do and believe in what will make the days fly by a little smoother, make you feel like your living for a reason, make you feel secure with eternity or reincarnation...for me it JESUS!! hallelujah :)

Oh yeah You sound like a strong Christian SINGIRL???

First off , you spell messiah like that. The test is prophecy and miracles. The messiah is the anointed one , the savior of the world. You will first have to seek truth to determine what the TRUE messiah Jesus said, then you will know the false one when he comes.

I feel a real messiah wouldnt try to glorify himself, and expect people to put him on a pedestal and kiss his feet. His ways would be loving and gentle, and he wud hv gr8 vibes.

Did you have some extra little something in your breakfast this morning? I think this question is weird....unless you're trying to make a point but failing miserably.
